Pamela JB Stone, MD, FACOGS, FACS

I am Pamela Stone and I'm originally from Minnesota — that's where I got my medical degree. My mother was a labor and delivery room nurse. When I was little, I asked my mom, “Who's the boss?”. She said, “the doctor” and I said “I'll be the doctor, then!.

I've always been interested in women's health care. In my OB/GYN residency, I was exposed to a lot of GYN oncology. My mom died of ovarian cancer and that was an area that I had otherwise avoided — it was a little too personal. But during my residency, I just gravitated towards it. I had wonderful mentors and so, here I am.

I feel very passionate about GYN Oncology. My patients are inspirational — they work so hard to overcome the obstacles they have that I'm usually thinking about them.

I don't always meet people at the best time in their lives. Building that personal relationship — based on trust, honesty and candor — is really important for both of us. It drives me and I really care about each and every one of them.
